What
is hair Analysis?
Hair analysis is done by atomic absorption
and it has been around for over 30 years. Hair analysis is a test,
which measures the toxic metal and mineral content of your hair.
This toxic metal and mineral content of the hair reflects the
content in the body’s cells or tissues.
IS HAIR ANALYSIS VALID?
In the 1979
review of over 400 studies, the Environmental Protection Agency
concluded that hair testing is a valid means for detection of most
toxic metals.
RESURCH SHOWS JUST HOW COMMON AND DANGEROUS HEAVY METAL
TOXICITY IS IN THE USA:
In a 300-page
report in August 1979, "Toxic Trace Metals in hair and nails" the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency stated that toxic metals are
the second worst environmental health problem in the United States.
Toxic metals are widely used in industry, agriculture and food
processing. Through carelessness or ignorance, toxic metals
find their way into our air, water and food supply. The ragedy
is that toxic metals are largely overlooked in medical training, and
equally ignored in many textbbooks of nutrition. Toxic metals
represent an important side of biochemisty and pathology that
can ideed explain the cause of many important illnessess and
symptoms.
THE BASIC MECHANSIM OF HEAVY METAL
TOXICITY:
The basic
principle is that whenever a dificiency of vital minerals occure,
they are always replaced with toxic metals
in enzyme binding sites and enzyme systems. For example, lead
replaces calcium, cadnium and copper replace zinc, and aluminum can
replace magnesium and manganese in the brain. This substitution
allows vital enzyme systems to continue functioning to some
degree. However, the incorrect metal incorporated into the
metallo-enzyme also causes physiologic dysfunctions to occur.
In nutritional
therapy fpr heavy metal toxicity one must not only supply any
deficiencies of vital mineral. but also replace toxic metals with
essential minerals. Thus it is warrented that high
quality well absorbed and assimilated minerals are
prescribed and that an effective Chelation program
be administered.
COMMON CAUSES OF A MINERAL IMBALANCE OR HEAVY METAL
TOXICITY:
- Improper
diet – such as excessive intake of refined carbohydrates and
sugars, strict vegetarian diets or other exclusive diets.
- Taking
vitamins an minerals which are not compatible with your current
body chemistry.
- Medications.
- Birth
control pills.
- Stress.
- Accumulation
of toxic metals from the food, environment, job or hobby.
- Inheritance
of mineral patterns form parents.
Who
Needs A Hair Analysis?
Anyone who is found ill and no explanation
can be found, or when the cause seems to be found but the therapy is
not wholly effective.
Even if you are not experiencing a severe
problem, abnormal changes in body chemistry and nutritional
deficiencies may result in early, subtle changes in the body such
as:
- White spots
in the fingernails – indicates a possible zinc deficiency.
- Longitudinal
ridging in nails – indicates an iron deficiency.
- Brittle
hair and nails – calcium and copper imbalance.
- Deep
grooves across nails – calcium deficiency.
- Stretch
marks – zinc deficiency.
- Lack of
growth – zinc deficiency.
- Mood swings
– possible toxic metal accumulation such as lead, mercury, or
cadmium.
The
above indicators are early signs of metabolic disturbances and may
lead to serious problems if left unchecked.
CONDITIONS THAT MAY RESULT
OR BE AGGRAVATED BY A MINERAL IMBALANCE OR ACCUMULATION OF HEAVY
METAL(S):
*Depression
*Headaches
*Hair loss
*Hypoglycemia
*Hypertension
*Anemia
*Hyperactivity
*Arthritis
*Thyroid disturbance
*Prostate
Disorder
*Diabetes
*Digestive Disturbances
*Skin Rashes
*Allergies *Musculo-Skeletal
*Emotional
Problems
*Cardiovascular Disease
Why Test For
Minerals?
Minerals are the “sparkplug” of life. They are involved in almost
all enzyme reactions within the body. Without enzyme activity,
life ceases to exist. A
trace mineral analysis is preventive as well as being useful as a
screening tool.
Why Test For Heavy
Metals?
Heavy metals are very toxic putting an
extreme stress on ones body thus, jeopardizes their state of
wellness. Toxic metals
contribute to many metabolic disorders and distressing symptoms
including fatigue infection, high blood pressure, hear disease,
cancer, and diabetes.
While routine blood tests cannot detect chronic heavy metal
poisoning, tissue hair analysis is one of the few methods approved
by the Environmental Protection Agency for detecting these toxic
metals in the body.
Monitoring
Progress:
A common problem in healing is determining if a
person is actually improving, especially if some symptoms persist or
new symptoms arise.
Repeat tissue hair analysis and comparison with previous
tests can often provide answers as to whether improvement is
occurring, why some symptoms persist, and what to expect in the
future.
Hair analysis is an invaluable screening tool
that allows a correct program of diet, supplementation, and heavy
metal elimination, designed for each individual’s specific
needs.
